Stake Originals: the in-house games every crypto casino copied
Crash, Limbo, Plinko, Mines, Dice. Stake built them in-house with 99% returns and open seeds, and the rest of the crypto industry has been copying them since 2017.
Stake Originals are the games Stake built for itself. The casino launched in 2017 as a crypto-only site and, rather than license Aviator or a slot catalogue, wrote its own: Crash, Dice, Limbo, Plinko, Mines, Hilo, Keno, Wheel and a few more. They are simple, they are fast, they return 99% and they expose every seed. Over the following years essentially every crypto casino cloned the range, which is why "originals" is now a lobby tab everywhere and not just a Stake menu item.
Licences
Stake is owned and operated by Medium Rare N.V., registration 145353, at an address in Curacao, with Medium Rare Limited and MRS Tech Limited as payment agents. The site shows GameCheck and Tanzanite certification seals for the games. It does not name a specific gambling licence number on the game pages we checked, and Curacao's regime is a long way from the UKGC's. Stake is blocked or unlicensed in the UK, most of the EU, Australia and the US; Stake.us is a separate sweepstakes-model site with its own rules.
For the games themselves, fairness rests on the provably fair implementation rather than a regulator. In this case that is enough for us, because the implementation is the best in the industry and we have verified rounds ourselves.
The games
Limbo is the one we cover in full. You set a target multiplier, a number is drawn, you win if it clears. RTP 99%, minimum target 1.01x, maximum 1,000,000x. It is crash with the animation removed, which makes it the clearest demonstration anywhere of what a cash-out target actually means: set 2x and you will win 49.5% of the time, forever.
Stake Crash is the original classic-format crash at the site, a curve and a cash-out button with a shared round and a live feed. Dice is the oldest and simplest: pick over or under a number. Plinko is the version with the 1,000x top bucket that most clones imitate. Mines is a 5x5 grid identical in concept to Spribe's. Hilo, Keno and Wheel round out the range. All of them run at 99% or close to it.
What sets Stake Originals apart
The house edge. One percent is a third of Aviator's and the lowest in the category outside Evolution's Cash or Crash. Stake can do this because it owns the games outright; there is no studio taking a cut and no supplier contract. The fairness panel is the second thing: server seed hash before the bet, your own client seed, a visible nonce, and a rotation button that reveals the old seed so you can check every round you played. Nobody does it better.
What the originals lack is reach and regulation. You cannot play them anywhere but Stake, and Stake is not licensed in most of the markets where crash games are legal. The thin edge is also, honestly, a trap for some players: a 99% game played at high speed for an hour loses money about as fast as a 97% game played slowly.
Where you find Stake Originals
Stake.com, where the country list allows it, and Stake.us in the United States under the sweepstakes model. The clones at other crypto casinos (BC.Game, Roobet, Shuffle, Rollbit) have their own originals with their own RTPs; they are similar but not the same, and the fairness implementations vary. Our Limbo page explains the maths; the Kenya and India hubs note where Stake is and is not reachable.
Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Stake Originals?
99% on Limbo, Dice, Mines and most of the range; Plinko reaches 99% at its highest setting. That is a 1% house edge, versus 3% on Aviator and 3.5% on Spaceman. Stake can run thinner margins because it has no supplier fee and no regulated-market compliance cost for these titles.
Are Stake Originals provably fair?
Yes, with the seeds exposed. Each game shows a server seed hash before you bet, lets you set your own client seed, and gives you the nonce; after rotating the server seed you can recompute every past result. It is the most transparent fairness implementation in the industry and the reason the originals have the reputation they do.
Is Stake legal where I live?
Stake operates under a Curacao licence through Medium Rare N.V. and is blocked or unlicensed in many countries, including the UK, most of the EU and the US (where Stake.us is a separate sweepstakes site). It is accessible in much of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Check your country page and local law before depositing.
